Day 01: Arrival at Delhi (26-10-2009, Monday)
The colourful cattle festival, Pushkar Fair in Rajasthan takes place each year in the month of October- November.  Pushkar Fair is one of the world’s largest cattle fair. One can see thousands of camels, horses, cows mingling with Rajasthani men and women clad in their colourful attire. Natives clad in colourful Rajasthani attire take part in various competitions with great zeal which includes camel races, drama, dance and music competitions.  Our Pushkar Fair Tour thus is planned very meticulously to bring the best of India tour along with an opportunity to experience the gaiety of this festive season.  As you arrive at the Delhi airport you will be welcomed in a very warm traditional way with garlands and our representative will then escort you to the luxury vehicle.  Relish your welcome drink and relax in the hotel for the night.

Day 02: At Delhi (27-10-2009, Tuesday)
A refreshing breakfast begins your day and you will then proceed for a full day sightseeing tour of the national capital- Delhi.  The city is a fine amalgamation of new and old facades of the city. Visit to both Old and New Delhi will introduce you to all its cultural, historical, religious and political sites of significance. 





First begin your sightseeing tour with a visit to ever so charming Old Delhi which constitutes numerous sites of historical and religious relevance.  Built with red sandstone a magnificent edifice of Red Fort is a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the same vicinity guests will encounter Jama Masjid which is the largest mosque in India; here one can climb its minaret to view the captivating sight of modern New Delhi evolving behind the narrow lanes of Old Delhi. Shop for some trinkets and gorge of Kareem’s Kebab’s in the neighbouring ancient market Chandni Chowk.  Surely the best way to discover the undulated lanes of the market is through a rickshaw ride.

Moving on with the day’s tour you will be traverse through the wide and airy roads of New Delhi and will encounter various Victorian style buildings.  Take a drive past Parliament House which was built during the British colonizer’s era also visit India Gate- a martyr’s memorial.  Other highlights of New Delhi include Laxmi Narayan Temple, and Birla Temple.  Conclude your trip for the day with a visit to Red Fort to see a magnificent Sound and Light Show.  Return to the hotel henceforth for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Delhi - Agra (28-10-2009, Wednesday)

This day of your Pushkar fair tour itinerary begins with a delectable breakfast and will be followed by a journey to the city of Mughal splendour- Agra.  A quick drive to Agra in the morning will transfer you to the city in about 4 hours.  On the route guests can also opt to take a halt at Sikandra which is renowned for housing a stunning Tomb of Mughal Emperor Akbar.  He started building his own tomb during his life span in order to build it according to his own taste and preference.  On arrival at Agra you will be first accommodated in the hotel booked for your night stay.  Relax for a while and then get ready for a day full of exciting surprises.

The sightseeing tour in the city begins with a visit to Taj Mahal.  The ultimate epitome of love Taj Mahal is the renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven World Wonders.  Also, visit another celebrated UNESCO World Heritage Site- the Red fort which is one of the most fascinating examples of Mughal opulence and thus has accommodated many great Mughal emperors.  Proceed next to Itmad- ud- Daulah’s Tomb which is a stunning mausoleum which looks very much similar to Taj Mahal.  Return to the hotel in the evening and stay overnight.

 

Day 04: Agra - Jaipur (29-10-2009, Thursday)

On the fourth day of this Pushkar fair travel guests will first relish their breakfast and then will commence their journey to Jaipur.  En route visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site- Fatehpur Sikri.  The fort regarded as Emperor Akbar’s crowning architectural legacy is adorned with exquisite halls, palaces and mosques.  After exploring the erstwhile deserted Mughal city guests will resume their journey to Jaipur. On arrival in the city guests will be accommodated in the heritage hotel booked for their stay in the renowned Pink City of Jaipur.  In the evening guests will be driven to a beautiful white marble Birla Temple.
For a memorable dining experience guests can opt to visit Chokhi Dhani.  A five star property, Chokhi Dhani portrays Rajasthani village setting in a mesmerizing form.  Gorge upon delectable Rajasthani and Indian cuisines while enjoying a colourful display of Rajasthani folk art forms such as puppet show, dance and music performances.





Day 05: Jaipur - Pushkar (30-10-2009, Friday)

Relish a breakfast and then commence your journey to your next destination, Pushkar. This holy city witnesses the most renowned Pushkar fair held on the day of full moon on the bank of Pushkar Lake. On the way to Pushkar you will pass the rural sites of Rajasthan. We have arranged for your stay in luxury tents at the fair itself so you can experience full essence of the fair. The luxury tents are ornate with all contemporary amenities to suffice the requirements of the modern traveller.  Living in tented apartments in the middle of the desert in a moonlit night and service staff catering to all your requirements is an experience of a lifetime.





Pushkar is one of the most holy cities of Hindus and the Pushkar fair is one of the grand annual events in Rajasthan which covers its annual camel trading fest.  Buying and selling of the livestock is the main highlight.  Therefore in the backdrop of Thar Desert the festival takes place with lots of gaiety and mirth.  Everywhere one can see hundreds of camels and other cattle for sale and people in colourful attires taking part in the celebrations. The main competitions of the fairs are "matka phod", "moustache", and "bridal competition".   

Enjoy the folk dance, camel races or try some shopping at an arcade around the traditionally decorated ground. Day 06: Pushkar (31-10-2009, Saturday)

One day is not enough to absorb this once in a life time experience. Today is at lesuire for you to mingle with the crowds at the fair giving you hundreds of photo opportunity and to get a first hand experience of the rajasthan way of living. Explore the fair, enjoy the rural games and rides and maybe buy a camel for your home. One more night in the desert.

Day 07: Pushkar- Jaipur (01-11-2009, Saturday)

On the sixth day of Pushkar Fair Tour guests will be driven back to Jaipur where they will be accommodated in a heritage hotel for night stay.  Jaipur is a romantic and jovial city. Begin the sightseeing tour with a visit first to Amber Fort situated at the hillock.  Amber fort is a fine blend of both Hindu and Muslim elements of architecture.  Situated on a hillock the fort can be best explored through an elephant ride taking you to the top of this breathtaking artistic marvel.  Return back to the city and enjoy a sightseeing tour here. 





Visit the charming City Palace which houses various exquisite palaces turned into heritage hotels.  Also, visit other attractions such as Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), Central Museum, Jantar Mantar an ancient royal observatory and Laxmi Narayan Temple.  You can enjoy a shopping excursion in the local markets of Jaipur to shop for some gorgeous handicraft trinkets etc.  Return to the hotel and stay overnight here.

Day 08: Jaipur - Mumbai (01-11-2009, Sunday)

On this day relish your breakfast in the morning and then proceed towards the next destination on this Pushkar Fair Tour.  Guests will be driven to the airport where they will board the flight to the city of Bollywood, Mumbai.  On arrival guests can opt to take a room for freshening up or can also head straight for their sightseeing tour. 

First on the sightseeing tour of the city guests will be driven to Gateway of India from where they will cruise to Elephanta Caves.  The UNESCO World Heritage Site of these rock cut temples of Elephanta Caves are appreciated world over. The entire complex of this cave temple covers about 60000 square feet of area and has a main chamber with numerous subsidiary shrines. Explore these centuries old temples and then cruise back to Gateway of India later. 





Back in the city guests will be escorted to other sightseeing attractions such as Prince of Wales Museum, Marine Drive, Jain Temple, Hanging Gardens and more.
