Day 8: At Jodhpur
Popularly called the ‘Blue City’ of Rajasthan, Jodhpur at a glance from Mehrangarh Fort appears splendid with numerous houses coloured in blue. On this day post breakfast your sightseeing tour would start with a visit to the majestic Mehrangarh Fort situated at a hillock. It is a giant structure spread over an area of 5 sq. km. After the fort visit the spectacular palace Umaid Bhawan Palace currently functional as a heritage hotel. This was the last palace to be constructed in India. This is where Elizbeth hurley had some of her wedding functions. Continue the tour visiting some of the kings ministers havelis famous for there intricate work on stone. After a fabulous tour of Jodhpur guests will enjoy a leisurely walk in the markets and explore the local handicrafts, hand woven clothes and shop for souvenirs such as silver jewellery and more. Return to the hotel thereafter with lots of souvenirs from the city. Maybe a post dinner stroll in the magnificent gardens of this heritage property.
Day 9: Jodhpur - Jaisalmer (Surface -05 hrs)
After breakfast depart for the desert city of Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is famous for cobbled streets, strewn with palaces, forts, temples and havelis. It is one of the most romantic cities of India and reminds one of Arabian nights.
Day at lesuire to enjoy your hotel and its facilities. You would be staying at Fort rajwada a 450 year old structure which has been maintained very well and has all the facilities of a 5 star resort.
Day 10: At Jaisalmer
Relish your breakfast and then proceed for a sightseeing tour of the city of Thar Desert- Jaisalmer. The imposing structure of Jaisalmer Fort is the most important landmark of the city. Explore this fort which is known amongst one of the largest desert forts in the world. The massive yellow sandstone walls of the fort glistens in the sunlight and thus it is most rightfully called the Golden Fort. The highlights of the fort are its exquisite halls such as Megh Durbar and various beauteous temples, Salim Singh ki Haveli & Patwon ki Haveli.
Next on this forts tour of Rajasthan guests will be driven in the deluxe vehicle to Lodurwa which houses ancient Jain temples and plenty of peacocks; a great attraction!
After a small siesta guests would be driven to the famous Sam sand dunes to enjoy one of the most beautiful sun sets. Today we have arranged dinner for you at the dunes under the stars enjoying the music of Rajasthan. There would be a live folk performance espically for you in the evening. You will also get a chance to sit on a camel and enjoy a short camel safari. Your stay has been arranged in deluxe tented apartments for a real regal experience.
Day 11: Jaisalmer - Bikaner (Surface -06 hrs)
After an early breakfast we leave for the city of Bikaner. Situated in the vast Thar Desert, Bikaner is famous for its magnificent fort, palaces, temples, exotic sand dunes, exciting camel safaris, and a unique culture that never fails to mesmerize its visitors. First visit the majestic Junagarh Fort; this giant edifice is renowned for housing 37 bastions and two elaborate entrances also a beauteous temple- Bhand Sagar Temple. The palace inside the fort has been maintained the way it used to be in the times of the maharajas. Because of its beauty and authenticity it has been used for shooting many bollywood blockbursters.
Later in the evening enjoy a special Tonga (cart-wheel) ride to Lallgarh. The opulent settings of Lallgarh are stunning and will be perfect venue for a memorable evening. Relish your dinner while watching a colourful dance show including the revered folk dance performances of Kal Belia and Kachi Ghodi dance forms. Concluding the day thus, return to your hotel for night stay.
Day 12: Bikaner - Jaipur (Surface -06 hrs)
Today we travel to the world famous ‘Pink city’ of Jaipur. Jaipur is a part of the popular Golden triangle of India and a must see for all visitors to India. You would be staying at Oberois Trident one of the prettiest hotels of Jaipur. Day at leisure to enjoy the hotel and its facilities.
For dinner you will be taken to a unique place known for housing a great turban museum called Surabhi. Enjoy dining and folk entertainment here and then return to the hotel for night stay.
Day 13: At Jaipur
Your day begins early, after breakfast climb the hilltop Amer fort on elephant back. It is an awesome experience entering the fort the way maharajas did on top of an Elephant. It’s a memory that will stay with you for a long time. Explore the stunning fort and then proceed for city sightseeing.
The next part of your city tour will include visits to some more interesting sites such as Hawa Mahal an edifice with various carved windows built originally for royal ladies. One of the most beautiful palaces of India Jaipur City palace, where the maharaja of Jaipur state still resides.
Albert Hall Museum displays a wide variety of ancient carpets, exquisite paintings, wood crafts, arms and weapons. Albert hall is one of the prettiest monuments of Jaipur hence we have arranged a special lunch for you in a fine dining restaurant in its premises. Continuing with city tour thereafter visit the age old royal observatory, Jantar Mantar.
Dinner will be a great experience as guests are taken to Chokhi Dhani –a resort with ethnic village settings. It is famed for its Indian and Rajasthani cuisines served amidst a village setting with live music, folk dances, puppet shows and more.
Day 14: Jaipur - Agra (Surface -05 hrs)
Today is the grand finale of the tour. We have planned your itinerary in such a way that today would be a full moon night. We would take special permission for you to visit the Taj Mahal in the evening under the moonlight. It is an amazing experience to see the marble shining in the moonlight. This is a sight you will not forget for the rest of your life. This special tour is subject to availability as very few visitors are allowed in the evening, though we have not failed once in getting permission for our guests.
Before we reach Agra we would stop at the famous Fatehpur Sikri. Built during the second half of the 16th century by the Emperor Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri (the City of Victory) was the capital of the Mughal Empire for only some 10 years. It was abandoned due to scarcity of water and has been kept in perfect condition since then. On arrival in agra enjoy some refreshments and then get set for a tour of the city. Visit the fascinating Mughal creations such as Agra Fort which is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its imposing architecture. A fascinating memorial- Itmad- Ud- Daula’s Tomb is appreciated by all Agra travellers. In the evening proceed for your first visit to the Taj mahal.
Day 15: Agra – Delhi (Surface -05 hrs)
The ultimate epitome of love created by Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, Taj Mahal is a sight of world wonder. One visit is not enough to absorb its beauty. Proceed early morning to see the Taj Mahal glistening in the morning hues and explore the monument at a lesuirely pace. After the visit proceed back to Delhi.
Guests could be dropped at the airport for their flight back home or for a nominal charge a room could be arranged for shower and change if your flight is late at night. Option of stay in Delhi for one more day can be arranged too. |
